Dan Broderick and linda kolkena shot by her ex-wife betty

At her wedding in April 1989, Linda Kolkena begged her partner Dan Broderick to wear a bulletproof vest because she was terrified that his jealous ex-wife would attack him. Seven months later, that’s exactly what happened.

Linda Kolkena and Daniel Broderick were found shot dead in bed at his residency. Police suspected it was Betty Broderick (Daniel’s Ex-wife) as accused after finding a 38 calibre gun in her car. As the investigation progressed, she was proven as accused after the weapon was identified as a murder weapon.

Daniel Broderick filed a divorce case after 16 years of his marriage with Betty in 1985. The reason for divorce was not stated by him but Betty and reports stated it was only due to affairs with Linda Kolkena. It took 5 long years for the court to grant divorce after many conflicts between Betty and Daniel.

Betty started conflicts by sending obsessive messages after the affair made public by Daniel. She even rammed her car into Daniel’s home and also ruined his house painting.

She claimed Daniel influenced her to obtain sole custody of their 4 children, selling her property without her consent and denying the rightful share of his income after the divorce which led to mental torture.

Linda also became a part of a controversy after Betty claimed that her marriage chain and her advertisement videos were stolen by Linda. All these conflicts were purposely caused by Betty only due to Daniel’s affair with Linda and divorce.

Linda and Daniel’s close circle stated they became busy in their life leading to mental torture in Betty’s life. However, she never insisted on saying “I killed them” at court rather she used to state “it was the heat of the moment” that occurred after she went to see Daniel. This statement led to 38 years of imprisonment for 2nd-degree murder.

Though the psychiatrists agreed she was suffering from depression and personal disorder the jury didn’t reduce the jail period. Her bail petition too was denied in 2010 and 2017 after the jury was unsatisfied with her statements.

Due to the 5 years controversial divorce case and deaths, their story has been premiered in 2017 on ET network in the USA.
