She is beautiful Iranian woman who can be admired as beauty with brains and ambitions. Anyone can fall for her and dream to be in her life.
Among the crowd of secret admirers, there was a guy named Movahedi, her junior and student. He fell head over heels for her and sent a marriage proposal through his mother. When his mother called Bahrami and asked to marry her son, she rejected the proposal.
Unable to handle the rejection, Movahedi started threatening Bahrami over phone calls. He used to say either marry me or I will wreck you completely. Bahrami filed a complaint against him but the police officials did not take the complaint seriously.
One day when Bahrami was going on the road, Movahedi came and threw acid on her eyes, which spilled on her whole face. For a few seconds she didn’t understand what happened to her. After 5 seconds she started screaming for help. Crowd of people circled her and Movahedi was standing in the crowd watching her suffer. For a few minutes people didn’t know how to help. After some time when they took her to hospital, the hospital staff were too confused how to help her, as they had never seen a case like her. After five hours an ophthalmologist came to help her.
Movahedi went to the police station and confessed his crime. He was arrested and a case was filed against him. At the same time Bahrami went through multiple surgeries for which she raised money through an online platform. The government promised to help her but never fulfilled its promise. Bahrami lost both her eyes completely after that accident and her face is completely disfigured.
When Movahedi’s trial started Bahrami requested punishment under Qisas ( an eye for an eye ) which offered retributed justice. Iran’s justice system applies Qisas. Bahrami’s plea was accepted and Movahedi was ordered to be blinded.
When Movahedi was prepared to be given anesthesia by doctors, Bahrami and her family were called to blind him. At the last moment, She changed her mind and decided to forgive him. When She was asked the reason she said she won’t be able to forgive herself for life if she did this.
After this she was awarded blood money by court, but she never received it. She started living her new normal life by learning to do her daily chores by herself. In the meantime seeing her sister’s difficult life, disfigured face and the accident, her brother took his own life.
Bahrami lost her career, beauty, normal life, family and most importantly her hope and dream of a better future.
